Family Genealogy of the O'Conor (O'Connor) Clan & origin of the O'Conor Don title in Ireland

Clonalis House is the ancestral home of the O'Conors of Connacht and descendants of the last High Kings of Ireland and traditional Kings of Connacht with their many castles, abbeys and strongholds.

The spelling of the O'Conor/O'Connor name is of no great significance. The original Irish for the name is Ua Conchobhair which was anglicised in various forms. In the case of the O'Con(n)ors of Connacht the name derives from Conchobhair, King of Connacht in AD 971. The name 'Ua Conchobair' literally meaning 'from Conor' or grandson of Conor.

We regret that we are unable to provide specific genealogical information at this time. However a number of commercial organisations specialising in this area can be found in the Irish Golden Pages.
